Lifeguards' recommendations for citizens spending time outdoors

Traditionally, on May 1, many people choose to spend this day in nature. To prevent incidents, fires and other risky situations, specialists come up with several recommendations for those who prefer to rest on green grass, have picnics or barbecue.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, fires should be lit in specially designated places, metal grills should be used and flames should be monitored.
At the same time, lighting a fire near forests, dry vegetation or combustible materials is prohibited.
Adults should not allow children to play with matches, wood, coal or a burning fire.
Another important aspect is the provision of extinguishing means. To intervene quickly in case of need, citizens are asked to have water, sand or a fire extinguisher.
If outdoor activities are carried out near water, rescuers urge adults to be vigilant and to carefully supervise minors.
In situations of risk, citizens are asked to call the single emergency 112.
