Presidential elections in Romania // Voting in the Republic of Moldova

Independent candidate and general mayor of Bucharest Nicușor Dan came first in the Republic of Moldova in the first round of the Romanian presidential elections. According to the final results published by the Permanent Electoral Authority, he scored 52.63% of the votes. In all, 90,851 people voted at the 64 open polling stations.
In second place was Crin Antonescu, with 21.69%, followed by George Simion, who scored 12.47%, Elena Lasconi, 9.6%, and Victor Ponta- 2.2%.

We point out that George Simion, the candidate and leader of the far-right party Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR), and Nicușor Dan, an independent candidate and the mayor of Bucharest, have qualified for the second round of the presidential elections in Romania.
After centralising 100% of the minutes, George Simion scored 40.96% of the votes, and Nicușor Dan—20.99 %.
In third place was Crin Antonescu, with 20.07% of the votes, followed by Victor Ponta – 13.05%, and Elena Lasconi – 2.68%.
According to the official election calendar, if suspicions of electoral fraud are invoked, requests for annulment of the elections can be submitted to the Constitutional Court until May 6.
On May 8, the Central Electoral Bureau will submit the general election report and the reports drawn up by the local electoral bureaus to the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court will then validate the election results and publish them in the media and in the Official Gazette.
The electoral campaign for the second round will officially begin on May 9, and the vote is scheduled for May 18.
