Dorin Recean confirms Russia's plan regarding the Republic of Moldova and gives assurances - the authorities are ready to intervene
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, confirms the statements of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to which the Kremlin would like to open a new front through the Republic of Moldova. The head of the Government in Chisinau declares that this is only one of Russia's plans and assures that the authorities are ready to intervene, regardless of the challenges.
"I have mentioned several times that there are still several destabilization scenarios, now only one has been mentioned. They include several elements, including those you mentioned from the words of Mr. President Zelenski, but I also mentioned that our institutions are prepared to face such challenges", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers declares that the Republic of Moldova has significantly strengthened its capabilities following attempts to destabilize the situation in the country last fall, so that the authorities are now prepared "for various scenarios aimed at the security of the Republic of Moldova". "I will mention once again: our objective is to ensure peace and stability in the country, including in relation to the area to the left of the Dniester. The Republic of Moldova opts for the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and we must align our goals in terms of peace and security", the country's prime minister also declared. We remind you that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated, in the most recent interview given to the international media, that Russia's plan to replace the pro-Western leadership of the Republic of Moldova, discovered by the Ukrainian intelligence services, was later confirmed by European countries as well. The leader from Kiev said that, thus, the Kremlin wants direct access to the airport in Chisinau, in order to be able to transport soldiers and equipment to open a new front in Ukraine from the Transnistrian region. We remind you that President Maia Sandu recently stated that Russia has a plan to destabilize the Republic of Moldova, "with the involvement of subversives with military training, camouflaged in civilian clothes, who will undertake violent actions, attacks on some state buildings and hostage taking".
