Chișinău rejects Simion’s fraud claims: "Moldovans with Romanian citizenship are free people"

George Simion, the AUR candidate in the Romanian presidential elections, has accused the Chisinau government of electoral fraud. In response, the Chisinau government rejected these accusations and encouraged citizens with dual citizenship to vote without fear.
“Enough with the campaign; now we must stop the massive fraud! The government in the Republic of Moldova has begun to steal! We will not allow this to happen!” declared George Simion on the day polling stations opened for voters in the diaspora.
“Moldovan citizens with Romanian citizenship are free individuals. We encourage everyone to go out and vote, making their voices heard—without fear,” stated Government spokesman Daniel Vodă.
He urged political leaders “to avoid accusations that only serve to undermine this democratic process.”
We remind you that Simion’s claims were not backed by evidence. In the first round of voting, the majority of voters in the Republic of Moldova supported his opponent, Nicușor Dan.
