The European Union is considering the creation of a civilian mission in the Republic of Moldova to support it and deal with interference and destabilization efforts. The statement was made, in Brussels, by the high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, after a meeting he had with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu.
The two officials discussed the direct consequences of the war, including the "repeated and unacceptable" violation of airspace and the use of energy weapons by Russia against the Republic of Moldova. "Increasing the resilience of the Republic of Moldova and its security is the best way to ensure that it will advance on the path of integration. The Republic of Moldova has expressed its desire to be part of the European Common Defense and Security Policy", said Josep Borrell.
