Fatal accident near Cîrnățeni, 1 dead
A fatal road accident occurred on Saturday, around 5:00 PM, between the localities of Cîrnățeni and Căușeni, resulting in one death.
According to Police, preliminary findings indicate the 24-year-old driver of a Volkswagen allegedly failed to yield at an intersection to a Dacia driven by a 36-year-old man, causing a collision.
A 57-year-old male passenger in the Volkswagen, the driver of the Dacia, and a 39-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle were transported to hospital. The female passenger later died at the hospital from injuries sustained.
Alcohol test results for both drivers were negative.
A criminal investigation has been launched to determine all the circumstances, and the 24-year-old driver has been detained for 72 hours.
