President Maia Sandu came with the first reaction, after she was seen with the president of Poland, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, where she attended the historic speech of the American leader Joe Biden. In a message posted on Twitter, the head of state noted that it was a privilege to listen to the speech of the American president, which marks one year since the beginning of the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine. At the same time, the president expressed her gratitude to the US leader and assured that the Republic of Moldova values freedom.
"It was a privilege to listen to the historic speech in Warsaw. Moldova values freedom and we are committed to remain part of the free world. My sincere gratitude to President Biden for his unwavering support for Moldova and for his solidarity with us," reads the message posted by the country's president. The White House announced that President Maia Sandu had a meeting with the leader from Washington today, as part of the official's visit to Poland. The senior American official reaffirmed, during the discussions with President Sandu, the firm support of the USA for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and declared that the USA will provide assistance to help the Republic of Moldova strengthen its political and economic resistance. We remind you that the leader from Washington gave a peace and solidarity speech in the evening in Warsaw, in which he reiterated his unwavering support for Ukraine, in the war started by Russia a year ago. Joe Biden also addressed the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, present at the Royal Castle, noting that "the people of Moldova defend their rights, demand freedom and independence and that he is proud to be with President Maia Sandu and her people".
