Eight new measles cases registered in Chisinau municipality

New cases of measles, a preventable infectious disease, were reported in Chisinau. Following laboratory tests, health officials confirmed five infections in children and three in adults. Vladimir Bolocan, the deputy head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, made this announcement during an operational meeting of the City Hall services.
According to Vladimir Bolocan, all individuals infected with the disease are unvaccinated and currently under medical supervision.
"Measles is an infection that can be prevented through vaccination. The disease can have very serious consequences, especially for pregnant women. That is why we emphasize the importance of vaccination and the need to halt the spread of the disease," Bolocan stated.
During this morning's meeting, he also noted an increase in cases of acute diarrheal diseases, largely attributed to the consumption of a variety of fruits and vegetables.
