17 prosecutors resign from PCCOCS

Resignations among prosecutors from the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) have continued, bringing the total to 17. Dumitru Obadă, the institution's president, confirmed this information.
The external evaluation of prosecutors began on May 8 and focuses on employees of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) and prosecutors in management roles within the Prosecutor General's Office.
The President of the CSP recently announced that the institution has submitted a list of 76 prosecutors to the Vetting Commission. These prosecutors currently hold or have previously held positions within the PCCOCS and will be subject to this evaluation.
According to the President of CSP, the evaluation will include not only current prosecutors but also those who were previously assigned to the specialized prosecutor's office.
Additionally, the CSP president cautioned that the recent wave of resignations could hinder the institution's functioning and pose risks of disruptions in the PCCOCS's activities.
