Export trade relations between the Republic of Moldova and European countries will be much easier in the future, the certification process for Moldovan products will also be simplified, stated the president of the commission for international trade in the European Parliament. Bernd Lange also emphasized that the representatives of the European Parliament next week could offer 145 million euros to our country for economic development.

"We will start the preparation for granting the next macro-financial assistance in the amount of 145 million euros. I hope that next week already the committee I am part of will complete this process," said the chairman of the committee for international trade in the European Parliament Framework, Bernd Lange.

The development of electronic commerce, increasing the export of food products to the European market, the accession of our country to the community program on the European single market, the elimination of roaming tariffs are just some of the Government's priorities this year, mentioned the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba. "We have the following priorities: expanding the range of domestic products admitted to the EU market, especially of animal origin, increasing exports of products with a higher level of processing and with an added value for the national economy, the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU program on the single market, continuing to reduce the administrative pressure on the business environment and providing support for strengthening their competitiveness and export potential".

Dumitru Alaiba also added that currently the economic cooperation relations between the EU and the Republic of Moldova know an unprecedented intensification, and 60% of our trade is with the countries of the European Union. According to the representative of the Government, the Republic of Moldova has gone through a profound transformation of the economy because 15 years ago 70% of trade was with the Russian Federation and the CIS countries.

In January 2023, the European Commission proposed an increase of 145 million euros in macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova. The proposal followed the announcement of additional financial support for Moldova made by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Chisinau in November 2022.

Of the 145 million euros offered by the EU, 45 million are grants, and 100 million are loans under favorable financial conditions.
