Fourteen business representatives and Chambers of Commerce from seven countries—Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine—recently gathered at an international conference in the Republic of Moldova. The conference focused on exploring Moldova's tourism potential, mainly rural tourism. These representatives were drawn to investing in rural tourism, a sector that holds significant promise but remains relatively unknown compared to other forms of tourism.

Many participants are visiting the Republic of Moldova for the first time and expressed their admiration for the quality of services and the country’s business-friendly fiscal policies. They highlighted the opportunity to learn about investment prospects in tourism in Moldova and establish new collaborative relationships.

"This is my first time in the Republic of Moldova. It is a fascinating, green place, and the people are kind. I am very happy to be here and to meet the locals. I am a member of the International Network of Professional and Business Women's Associations, which promotes the empowerment of women around the world. I hope to return to the Republic of Moldova," said Giuseppina Seidita, a participant from Italy.

"It is very interesting because there are numerous opportunities to develop international businesses. I noticed a lot of young people here, which is very important. Therefore, we must provide them with a worthy future in both work and education," mentioned Laura Petruzzelli from Italy.

“In my area, Arad County, I have friends who are entrepreneurs with roots in this region. We appreciate how beautiful and picturesque your country is, full of hospitality and boasting tremendous potential," said Mihaela Breaz, a participant from Romania.

On the event's last day, participants visited several tourist attractions, including Orheiul Vechi, and subsequently travelled to Trebujeni. Host Liliana Buzilă, who owns a family guesthouse, discussed rural tourism and its challenges.

"Every day presents a challenge, and when a guest enters your establishment, it’s a new experience since you never know what kind of guest is arriving. You want to showcase everything beautiful, from traditions and cuisine to the arts and stunning locations. Our goal is to make the guests want to return," she explained.

Angela Chicu, president of the Business and Professional Women Association of Moldova and organizer of the event, stated that the meeting's purpose was to promote rural tourism in Moldova and exchange experiences with European countries.

"In the Republic of Moldova, rural tourism is largely unknown. We decided to explore this area, and today we have 14 representatives from different countries present. The participants have shown interest in returning after seeing our attractions. We’re here to exchange experiences, identify gaps, recognize positive aspects, and share knowledge among countries," she added.

We remind you that the Business and Professional Women Association of Moldova organized the 7th International Conference on May 29-30. The conference was titled “Supporting youth and women, including those from Ukraine, in the digitalization of the rural tourism sector, while respecting gender equality and exchanging experiences with other countries.” The Association is part of an international network that encompasses over 100 countries.
