MP Alexandr Suhodolski loses salary over unexcused absences from Parliament

Unaffiliated MP Alexandr Suhodolski has not received his monthly salary, allowances, or compensation because he failed to attend any plenary or committee meetings in May. As a result, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu issued a provision to suspend these payments until the MP resumes his legislative activities.

According to the document, payments will only be resumed when Alexandr Suhodolski attends plenary sessions or meetings of the standing committee to which he belongs.

Suhodolski was sanctioned for his unexcused absences in April, resulting in a 75% deduction from his salary and monthly transportation allowance.

Additionally, it is important to note that since the beginning of the year, four other deputies also faced sanctions with suspended salary payments. These deputies are Denis Ulanov, Alexandr Nesterovschi, Irina Lozovanu, and Marina Tauber.

As stated in the Parliament's Rules of Procedure, a deputy may not be absent from parliamentary sessions or the meetings of their standing committee without a valid reason. Valid reasons for absence include sick leave, personal leave, or protesting a specific agenda item announced at their meeting.
