Shor and Tauber’s accounts remain blocked as Interinstitutional Supervisory Council extends the measure

Ilan Shor and Marina Tauber's accounts are still blocked. The Interinstitutional Supervisory Council has decided to continue the seizure of assets belonging to individuals affected by the international sanctions imposed by the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, including Shor and Tauber.
The measures aimed at destabilizing the Republic of Moldova were extended until April 29, 2026.
According to the decision, in addition to Ilan Shor, who is serving a 15-year prison sentence, and Marina Tauber, who is currently under criminal investigation and has been outside the country for about three months, the seizure of assets is also applied to other individuals involved in activities undermining the sovereignty and stability of Moldova. This includes Arina Corșicova, the head of multiple media trusts accused of promoting false narratives; Dumitru Chitoroagă, the administrator of a media trust that openly supports Ilan Shor; Nelli Parutenco, the founder of the NGO Evrazia, which promotes Russian influence in Moldova; Mihail Vlah, the deputy governor of Gagauzia; and Evghenia Guțul.
The Interinstitutional Supervisory Council’s decision also targets the "Eurasia" Organization. This Russian non-governmental entity was sanctioned in 2024 and 2025 by the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom. This organization is accused of promoting Russian propaganda, including among minors, facilitating the transfer of funds from Russia and Ilan Shor to Gagauzia, organizing the transport of young Moldovans to Russia for pro-Kremlin indoctrination, and being involved in voter bribery schemes.
We remind you that the government in Chișinău has blocked the accounts and economic resources of 11 individuals the European Union previously sanctioned for actions aimed at undermining the Republic of Moldova. The Interinstitutional Supervisory Council issued this decision on restrictive measures on August 1, 2024. Among those targeted are the fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor and MP Marina Tauber.
The Interinstitutional Supervisory Council was established last year to oversee Moldova's implementation of international sanctions and restrictive measures. Prime Minister Dorin Recean heads the council, which includes the leaders of significant authorities and public institutions. The commission ensures coordinated efforts in the application of sanctions.
