EU-Republic of Moldova Association Council holds 9th meeting in Brussels

The ninth meeting of the European Union-Republic of Moldova Association Council is taking place today in Brussels. This meeting aims to evaluate Chisinau's progress in the EU accession process and the commitments made to implement essential reforms.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who is on an official visit to Brussels, Belgium's capital, will lead the Moldovan delegation. The meeting will be chaired by the Moldovan Prime Minister, while Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will lead the European Union delegation. Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, will also participate in the meeting.
The meeting will begin with a discussion on global and regional challenges, followed by a review of the progress made by the Republic of Moldova since the last meeting, particularly in relation to its European integration efforts. The discussions will focus on the reform agenda, especially in the areas of justice, combating corruption, and strengthening democracy and security.
Another important topic on the agenda is economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on the energy sector. This sector is viewed as a priority for enhancing the Republic of Moldova's resilience in the face of current challenges.
