The US will provide Ukraine with new military aid worth $2 billion
Washington will grant a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine, worth 2 billion dollars. The announcement comes amid the marking of one year since the start of the Russian invasion, reports AFP and Reuters, quoted by Agerpres.
"The US is announcing an additional $2 billion in military aid to Ukraine," White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN on Thursday. The official did not provide details on this new assistance. "We will continue to examine what is needed and strive to provide everything that Ukraine needs to win on the front," Sullivan told CNN. The senior official, who accompanied Joe Biden on a surprise visit to Kiev this week, added that the US administration is constantly asking how to "give Ukraine the tools to win." In his statement, Jake Sullivan said that the G7 member countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the USA) are to announce new sanctions on Friday, February 24, which will primarily target those states that supply Russia products subject to previously imposed sanctions.
