Igor Grosu: “Germany supports Moldova on its path to European integration”

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu met with Julia Klockner, the President of the German Bundestag, on Friday. Their discussions centered on Moldova's progress in the European integration process, the regional security situation, and efforts to combat hybrid threats, reads a press release of the Parliament from Chisinau.

According to the cited source, the parties discussed "the strong Moldovan-German cooperation, which has built robust institutions over the years, modernized kindergartens, schools, and hospitals, and made efforts towards our country's energy independence."

"He assured me that Berlin remains a valuable and reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova and will continue to support us on our path to European integration. Our objective is clear: to open all negotiation chapters by the end of the year, and Germany is with us on this journey," stated Igor Grosu.

The Parliament Speaker expressed gratitude for the support that the Republic of Moldova has received from the German government over the past three decades. An example of this support is the expansion of air connections to several German cities in the past year.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is currently on a working visit to the German Bundestag.
