Executive Vice-President of the European Commission visits Chisinau; talks focus on education and social protection

Roxana Mînzatu, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, will visit the Republic of Moldova from June 9 to 10. The agenda includes meetings with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Minister of Economic Development Doina Nistor and visits to various localities throughout the country.

On Monday, June 9, the official will co-chair the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The discussion will focus on policies related to labor, skills, social protection, and children's issues. In the morning, she will also hold a joint press conference with Alexei Buzu, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, and Dan Perciun, the Minister of Education and Research.

In the afternoon, President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean will meet, followed by visits to Criuleni and Zubrești in the Strășeni district—communities that benefit from the European Union's support.

On Tuesday, the agenda includes an open dialogue with students from the Technical University of Moldova and participation in an event focused on the Erasmus+ program and the EVOLVE4GE initiative. This initiative, supported by the EU and UN Women, aims to promote gender equality and combat violence.

The visit will conclude with a meeting with Doina Nistor, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation to support sustainable development and the digitalization of the economy.
