Chisinau residents enjoy recreational spots

The recent heat waves have driven many people to seek relief outdoors. Swimming pools, lakes, and parks in Chisinau and other towns were filled with individuals eager to escape the hot weather, which consistently exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. Families, young people, and children went to these recreation areas, spending their time swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing in the shade.
Residents of Chișinău were eagerly anticipating beautiful weather.
"We were hoping it wouldn't be too crowded, but we are enjoying a lovely time. This year, it feels like we went straight from winter to summer," said one local.
Another resident mentioned, "We have been waiting for summer for a long time. We're currently in exam season, but we'll come back to enjoy it later."
One family stated, "We're relaxing on this beautiful Sunday; it's nice to have some downtime. The water is warm."
Representatives from local recreation areas reported that preparations for the summer season began in the fall, including renovations, changing the water in the pools, and installing new filters.
"At the beginning of each season, we change the water and filter it every hour. For three consecutive years since we opened, we haven't changed the entrance price. This year, the prices have changed: it's 600 lei for adults and 450 lei for children for all-day access," said Sașa Letty, a representative of the pool.
Parks with designated beach areas in Chișinău were quite crowded, as residents flocked to cool off and spend time with family and friends.
"It's nice to relax, but the lake is dirty; it would be better if it were cleaner. We're still warming up after a cold winter," one person commented.
Another family shared, "It's Sunday, and instead of staying at home, we decided to come out and relax. We've been waiting a long time for summer because now it's vacation time, kindergarten is closed, and we can spend more time with our children."
One resident said, "It feels almost like being in Europe, just at home. The water isn't really clean, but overall, it's good."
According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, temperatures are expected to range between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius starting next week.
