"Today (Saturday - no), at 1:00 p.m. The gas transport started in the direction of Romania - Republic of Moldova. 1,023,266 cubic metres are nominated. The compressor is working normally", stated the officials of the gas transport company.

According to them, it is the first time that gas is transported from Romania to the Republic of Moldova through the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline.

The Chisinau authorities have not yet provided information regarding the export of natural gas from Romania through the Iași-Ungheni pipeline.

TRM.MD recalls that, on Friday, Energocom imported 4.3 million cubic metres of natural gas from the Mediterranean area through the trans-Balkan corridor to test how this route works in reverse. The amount of gas was imported through the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, via Romania, being transported to Ukraine, stated the interim director of Energocom, Victor Bînzari.
