Moldova strengthens European links with Slovenia, Greece

Moldova and Slovenia are poised to enhance their cooperation across several key areas, including the fight against corruption, democratic consolidation, economy, tourism, agriculture, IT, light industry, and waste management.

The announcement was made today by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, following his meeting with Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, who is currently visiting Chișinău.

The officials discussed Moldova's progress on its European integration agenda over the past year, as well as the political situation within the republic.

The Moldovan official emphasized that both countries share many commonalities and a unified objective: peace and prosperity for their citizens.

Notably, from June 10 to 12, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis are conducting official visits to Chișinău. The two officials will hold meetings with Chișinău authorities and tour state institutions of the Republic of Moldova.

In connection with these visits, Chișinău City Hall announced that public access would be temporarily restricted in certain central areas of the capital and along arteries connecting to Chișinău International Airport, from Tuesday, June 10, through Thursday, June 12.
