Chișinău strongly condemns the unilateral military maneuvers held today in the Transnistrian region.

Structures in Tiraspol, in collaboration with the Operative Group of Russian Forces (OGRF)—whose presence is considered illegal by Chișinău authorities—organized a rehearsal for a reenactment of the Iași-Chișinău operation from World War II.

According to regional press reports, the rehearsal took place on the bank of the Dniester River, in the Tiraspol area. It involved 16 units of military equipment, 13 artillery pieces, blank ammunition, and pyrotechnic materials. The main event is scheduled for June 21.

"These unilateral military actions, conducted within the Security Zone, constitute a blatant defiance of the special regime established for this area and undermine the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester," the Bureau for Reintegration Policies (BRP) said in a press release.

The Republic of Moldova's delegation to the Joint Control Commission requested, through the Joint Military Command, the dispatch of military observers to the scene to document the situation. This request, deemed legitimate, was blocked by military representatives from Tiraspol and the Russian Federation.

"The Republic of Moldova's delegation to the Joint Control Commission strongly condemns these provocations that endanger stability and security in the region and demands the immediate cessation of any military activities in the Security Zone. Furthermore, we call for strict adherence to the commitments made under the July 21, 1992 Agreement on the principles for the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Moldova's Transnistrian region," the BRP statement read.
