The US is planning a 300 million dollar aid for the Republic of Moldova to be able to respond "to the urgent needs created by Putin's war"
The United States plans to announce on Friday $300 million in aid to the Republic of Moldova to help Chisinau reduce its energy dependence on Russia, as well as €250 million in aid to strengthen Ukraine's energy infrastructure in the wake of the Russian attacks, informs Digi24.ro.

These aids, provided in a series of documents consulted by Reuters, would be announced by the director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, on the day that marks one year since the start of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, according to Agerpres. The $300 million aid to the Republic of Moldova includes $80 million to support the budget in the context of high electricity prices, $135 million for projects aimed at electricity production and $185 million to improve the country's capacity to supply energy from alternative sources, according to the working document consulted by Reuters. "This aid will help the Republic of Moldova respond to the urgent needs created by Putin's war and also make progress towards long-term energy resilience and stronger interconnections with Europe," the document states. All of this money comes from a $45 billion fund for Ukraine, included in a larger spending package approved last year by the US Congress.
