Prime Minister Dorin Recean discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart, Denys Shmyhal: "We remain in solidarity with Ukraine and its people"

Prime Minister Dorin Recean talked with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, in a video conference. The PM from Chisinau thanked the Ukrainian people for the firmness with which they defend their borders, but also the whole of Europe. Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the authorities continue to make efforts to integrate Ukrainian refugees into our society, in kindergartens, schools and social projects.

"The war has shown that it is extremely important to remain united and strong. I am confident that our collaborative relations will increase, and the agenda of joint activities will expand, including in terms of our inter-institutional cooperation in the energy, security, infrastructure and transport segments", said Prime Minister Dorin Recean. According to a press release issued by the Government, the Prime Minister of Ukraine appreciated the fact that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova declared 2023 as the "Year of Ukrainian culture in Moldova" and reaffirmed the support of the Government in Kiev for our country. "We value the solidarity of the people of the Republic of Moldova and I want to assure you that Ukraine is a reliable friend. The European integration of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova means security and our common future", emphasized Denys Shmyhal. Also today, Prime Minister Dorin Recean received the Ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau, Marko Shevchenko, to the Government. Officials assessed the current security environment and challenges in the region. "I hope that, despite the challenges and events of the last period, Ukraine and peace will win," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean. For his part, Ambassador Marko Șevcenko thanked the authorities and citizens of the Republic of Moldova for all the support given to his countrymen fleeing the war: "In the current conditions, unity and solidarity are essential values for the two states".
