Mihail Podoliak: Russia has prepared concrete plans for the "most severe and aggressive destabilization" of the political situation in the Republic of Moldova

Kiev presidential counselor, Mihail Podoliak, claims that Russia would have prepared concrete plans for the "most severe and aggressive destabilization" of the political situation in the Republic of Moldova. The Ukrainian official said, in an interview with Radio Moldova, that the destabilization of the situation in the country could be obtained, including, by organizing anti-government protests in Chisinau, as well as using the Transnistrian region for military purposes. Podoliak argues that Transnistrian enclave presents a continuous risk to both the Security of the Republic of Moldova and that of Ukraine, and urges the leadership from Chisinau to adopt a "harder" attitude towards the pro-Russian causing parties and movements.

"There are absolutely concrete plans for the most severe aggressive destabilization of the political situation in Moldova. Consequently, Russia is now intensely funding the pro-Russian political parties in the Republic of Moldova, so that they will go out for protests, with the assault of state buildings, government, violence towards citizens and so on. Eventually, Russia intends to involve the Transnistrian component. It is clear that a Russian puppet government is installed there. By the way, I have always emphasized, both before this war and during the war, that the presence of criminal enclaves that are controlled by Russia, including Transnistria, will serve, sooner or later, as an opportunity to start Russia's invasion in a country, ”said presidential adviser Mihail Podoliak. The Ukrainian official claims that the instability of the Republic of Moldova would be "extremely important" for the Russian Federation, this will allow, according to him, to solve two tasks. "The first is to distract Europe, especially the southern part of Europe, from the events in Ukraine, that is, to try to minimize, through the Moldovan conflict, the logistics assistance, the transport assistance for Ukraine. The second is the attempt to create the so-called South front through Transnistria in the direction to the southern regions of Ukraine. This is a very important task and I would like Moldova to tolerate the presence of Russian groups less, ”said Mihail Podoliak. In the context, the presidential counselor in Kiev said that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova should show a tougher attitude towards the pro-Russian challenging parties and movements. "I cannot give advice, of course, because it is the sovereign right of the country's political leadership to evaluate certain risks that appear due to the actions of the political parties in the Republic of Moldova. However, in my opinion, this tolerant attitude towards pro-Russism can be extremely dangerous to Moldova. The country could slip into a fundamentally destructive internal conflict, ”said Mihail Podoliak. In context, Podoliak rejected the accusations of the Russian Ministry of Defense that Ukraine prepares an invasion in the Transnistrian region in the coming days and urged Moldovans to "never listen to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation." The presidential counselor expressed the full support of the Recean Government and President Sandu and reiterated support for the European course of the Republic of Moldova. We recall that the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, recently said that Russia plans to involve diversionists with military training, camouflaged in civil, to attack state institutions and take hostages, emphasizing that "through violent actions masked under protests. -the named opposition would be forced to change the power from Chisinau ”. The evaluations of Maia Sandu were made public a few days after the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski sent to the 27 heads of state or government in the European Union that Ukraine intercepted the plans of Russian secret services to destroy the Republic of Moldova.
