Opportunity for entrepreneurs: $50,000 funding for sustainable businesses

Entrepreneurs and startups in the Republic of Moldova that are creating innovative solutions for a greener future can apply for $50,000 in funding through the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme Competition (GCIP Moldova 2025). This program has been launched by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

The competition is open to startups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises that develop products, services, or technologies in areas such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, water efficiency, green buildings, and green transport.

Registration is available online until July 7, 2025, at: https://gcip.tech/register.

The competition finalists will present their solutions to an international jury at the Moldova Eco Energetica Gala 2025, where winners will receive a prize of $50,000. Additionally, these finalists will have the opportunity to represent the Republic of Moldova in the global GCIP competition, competing alongside entrepreneurs from over 10 countries. This provides access to new investment opportunities and potential partnerships.

The GCIP is an international accelerator dedicated to clean technologies (Cleantech). It offers participants support for launching and developing their businesses, including mentoring from local and international experts, practical training, networking with investors, and increased visibility both nationally and internationally.

The program is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). It aims to promote clean technology innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging markets and developing economies, address climate challenges, and foster sustainable development.
