More polling stations will be opened in Romania for Moldova’s parliamentary elections

Moldovan citizens living in Romania will be able to vote in the parliamentary elections set for September 28, 2025. According to Victor Chirilă, the Moldovan ambassador to Bucharest, there will be 22 polling stations in Romania, an increase of six from the last elections.
Five polling stations will be opened in Bucharest, three in Iași, and two each in Timișoara, Cluj, and Brașov. Additionally, one polling station will operate in the cities of Sibiu, Oradea, Târgu Mureș, Craiova, Suceava, Bacău, Galați, and Constanța.
Moldovan citizens can vote using valid identity cards or passports issued by the Republic of Moldova's authorities. “The elections on September 28 are crucial for the future of the Republic of Moldova. We will elect the parliament that will guide us toward European Union accession. I am not exaggerating; we have a unique, unrepeatable opportunity to become EU members by the end of this decade. We invite all citizens of the Republic of Moldova to prepare for participation in the autumn elections by ensuring that their identity cards and passports are valid,” stated Victor Chirilă, the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania.
The authorities have not disclosed the total number of polling stations opened abroad during the parliamentary elections on September 28. In previous elections, including the presidential elections and the referendum on European integration in the fall of 2024, 231 polling stations were established abroad, the majority in Italy, 60 in total. In Romania, 16 polling stations were operational, with those in Bucharest being the busiest.
