A 45-year-old man from Ukraine was detained by Border Police for illegally crossing the state border with a paramotor over the weekend.

The incident occurred near the village of Beleavințî, Briceni district, just a few kilometers from the border. Border police noticed the situation and promptly arrived at the scene, where they discovered the man along with the aircraft he used to cross the border.

A man reported to authorities that he took off from the Slobodka area in Ukraine and successfully crossed the border using a paramotor. After his detention, he requested asylum in the Republic of Moldova.

The Border Police continue their investigation to determine the exact details of the incident. In the meantime, officials remind people not to use illegal methods to cross the border.
