Trump, who had returned to Washington that same morning after prematurely leaving the G7 summit in Canada, spent the day at the White House consulting with his advisors and national security team amidst the ongoing exchange of missile strikes between Israel and Iran, NBC News reported.
The American president did not comment on whether the US would join Israel in bombing Iranian nuclear facilities.
Meanwhile, media outlets have reported that President Donald Trump is considering supporting Israel and launching strikes against Iranian nuclear targets.
On Tuesday, Trump also issued unexpected threats against Iran and its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, demanding the country's "unconditional surrender."
