New program: 3,000 lei for first jobs in Moldova

Young people under 35, starting their first full-time job in key economic sectors, will receive a monthly allowance of 3,000 lei from the state for one year.
Under the National Program for Monthly Allowances to Young Employees in Strategically Important Industries, launched by the Government on June 18, the allowance will be tax-exempt, added to their monthly salary, and the entire application process will be digitalized via government platforms EVO, MConnect, MPass, and MPay.
Dan Perciun, the Minister of Education and Research, says the initiative aims to encourage professional integration for young people and reduce labor migration, while also supporting sectors essential for the country's development, such as energy production, IT, and engineering.
"This measure aims to stimulate youth employment, retain them here in the country, and simultaneously encourage employers to hire young people at the start of their careers so they can gain the necessary experience and become as productive as possible in the future," Dan Perciun stated during the Government meeting.
The project's cost for the latter half of the current year is estimated at approximately 58.5 million lei. In the medium term (2027–2030), the program will expand to 9,000 beneficiaries annually, generating an estimated economic return of 1.7 lei in additional revenue for every lei invested.
Funds will be allocated from the state budget, and the Government will determine how the allowances are granted.
