Secretary of State nominated for ANRE director position

The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, may be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), which oversees the natural gas sector.
Borosan achieved the highest score in the competition organized by the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Budget, and Finance, following interviews held on Friday, June 20, at the Parliament.
“The relevant committee will propose this candidacy to the Parliament plenary for appointment to a six-year term,” announced Radu Marian, the Chairman of the Committee.
It is noteworthy that nine applications were submitted for the position of director of ANRE, with eight candidates deemed eligible.
The ANRE Board of Directors consists of five directors. According to the legislation, these directors are appointed by Parliament based on the results of a competition. One director's term is set to expire soon.
