Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that several Moldovan citizens in Israel will be evacuated by Ukrainian authorities.

This information was confirmed by Tatiana Barac, spokesperson for Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Chișinău.

"The evacuation process is currently underway. The individuals involved are in transit, and the operation is in full swing," Tatiana Barac stated.

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on his Telegram channel that 176 people were evacuated from Israel to Egypt. Among those evacuated by Ukraine were citizens of Moldova, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, and the United States.

"Anticipating active U.S. actions regarding Iran's nuclear program, Ukrainian diplomats and Ukraine's Military Intelligence Service carried out a significant phase of evacuating citizens of Ukraine and partner states from the danger zone: This included the evacuation of 176 people from Israel to Egypt, and evacuations from Iranian territory to Azerbaijan are continuing. Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, reported on the activities of our embassies in the region and the evacuation measures undertaken," Zelenskyy noted.

"We respond to every request and will continue evacuation efforts. I have mandated Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and intelligence services to ensure all necessary protection for our citizens in the Middle East and the Gulf region," Zelenskyy added.

Since June 13, Israel has launched a series of airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, including those in Tehran and Esfahan.

Chișinău's diplomatic mission appealed to its citizens to leave Israel. Dozens of Moldovans have requested information on evacuation options from Israel, but despite the risks, some are not rushing to depart from the state.
