Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, on an official visit to Ireland
The Parliament Speaker from Chisinau, Igor Grosu, will pay an official visit to Ireland, from February 27 to March 1 this year, at the invitation of his Irish counterpart.
According to the Directorate of Communication and Public Relations of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu will have a meeting with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Ireland, Seán Ó Fearghaíl, and with the President of the Senate, Jerry Buttimer. The agenda also includes discussions with parliamentarians from the Foreign Affairs and Defense committees and with deputies from the Friendship Group with our country. In the context of Igor Grosu's visit, the Irish Parliament will host an exhibition of our national costumes. In Dublin, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, will be received by the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins. At the same time, at the Government, the Parliament Speaker will have meetings with the Minister of State for European Affairs, Peter Burke, and with the Minister of Public Expenditures, Development of the National Development Plan and Reforms, Paschal Donohoe, who is also President of the Eurogroup, an informal body that brings together ministers from the member states of the euro area. Igor Grosu will also meet with the community of Moldovans who live, work or study in Ireland, as well as with businessmen originating from the Republic of Moldova, established in Ireland. The Parliament Speaker will be accompanied on his visit to Dublin by a parliamentary delegation made up of members of the Friendship Group with Ireland: Radu Marian, Ion Șpac, Victor Spînu and Veaceslav Nigai.
