Two Moldovan citizens detained in Moscow: FSB claims they entered Russia with fake documents

Two citizens of the Republic of Moldova were detained in Moscow on June 25, accused of being undercover agents for the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, according to the Russian agency TASS.
The source references a statement from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which claims that two Moldovan citizens arrived in Moscow using false documents and fictitious identities to engage in activities detrimental to Russia's national security.
According to the FSB, "The Federal Security Service intercepted the illegal actions of certain Moldovan secret service agents in Moscow. It was revealed that two Moldovan citizens, using cover documents, arrived in Moscow to carry out missions for the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, aimed at undermining the security of the Russian Federation."
Russian authorities assert that the Moldovan citizens were placed under pre-trial arrest and have confessed to their actions. Criminal cases were initiated against them, and they could face up to eight years in prison, as reported by TASS.
We remind you that in mid-April, the Russian FSB announced the detention of two additional Moldovan citizens, accusing them of preparing terrorist attacks. This information was quickly disseminated by Russian news agencies loyal to the Kremlin. However, the publication "The Insider" reported the same day that the individuals in question were arrested between 2023 and 2024.
Independent sources have not corroborated the information provided by the FSB.
Currently, the authorities of the Republic of Moldova have not issued a comment regarding this information.
