Romania reaffirms support for Moldova and Ukraine at NATO summit in The Hague

Romania is committed to defending democracy in the Republic of Moldova and supporting its journey towards European integration, especially in light of the growing security challenges in the Black Sea region. This statement was made by Oana Țoiu, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the NATO Summit held in The Hague.
On her first day in office, the Romanian foreign minister attended the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting on Tuesday. She reaffirmed Romania's commitment to defending Ukraine's sovereignty and democracy and its support for the Republic of Moldova. In light of increasingly complex security challenges, Romania is committed to playing an active role in shaping a stronger NATO, one that is better prepared and more determined to defend the territory of the Alliance.
"We are determined to make NATO stronger and better prepared to defend allied territory against all threats," wrote Oana Țoiu on the X platform.

During the meeting, Euro-Atlantic foreign ministers reaffirmed their unity and determination to support Ukraine and vulnerable partners in the region. Romania emphasized the importance of its strategic partnership with the United States in maintaining stability in the Black Sea region.
