Moldova weather alert: Storms & fire hazard
Short-duration rains, accompanied by lightning, isolated hail, and wind gusts up to 15–20 meters per second, are expected in the coming hours across Moldova.
The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has issued a Yellow Code warning for atmospheric instability.
The warning takes effect today, June 27, at 3:00 PM and will remain valid until 11:00 PM tonight, according to the SHS.
Authorities advise the public to limit non-essential travel, especially in open areas, and to avoid standing under trees, power poles, billboards, or other tall structures, which can become hazardous during a storm.
It's also worth noting that a Yellow Code warning for fire hazard is simultaneously in effect starting today. According to the SHS, this warning is valid from June 27 to July 3.
