In the village of Bugeac, part of the Gagauz Autonomy, significant transformations are underway.

The local mayor's office building, over four decades old, is being renovated with support from the "European Village-2" program. Additionally, 90 percent of the village's roads are being rehabilitated using local budget funds, including the Road Fund. Locals say the changes are felt everywhere in the village, and investments are continuing.
In March, work began on installing a new roof and thermal insulation for the facade of the mayor's office building. The project's initial value was 1.9 million lei; however, after the tender, costs were reduced to 1.5 million lei.
"We've wanted to renovate the mayor's office building for a long time. We applied to the 'European Village 2' program. Now, the mineral wool thermal insulation is nearing completion, and painting the facade will follow," explained Mayor Nicolai Dudoglo.

Residents are pleased with the changes happening in their home village, including at the mayor's office.
"They've done everything possible for the village – sewerage, water, and roads. They're people too, working long hours, and they also need good conditions."
"Now it will be pleasant to enter. Everything was rundown before, but now it will be beautiful, both inside and out."

In parallel, road rehabilitation continues. Nearly all road infrastructure in the village has been renovated.
"Sewerage is done, gas is available, we have water, and almost all roads are ready. There's one more street there and another, the last one, at the edge of the village. They also repaired a street at the former agricultural enterprise."
"90% of the roads are already repaired. Now we're working on the small connecting streets. We're using cobblestones because they're easier to maintain when network repairs are needed," mentioned the Mayor of Bugeac.
Over 1,700 people live in Bugeac village.
