New Moldova law: 3,000 Lei for young industry workers

The law providing a monthly financial supplement of 3,000 Moldovan Lei to young specialists starting their first job in strategically important industries was enacted on June 30 by President Maia Sandu.

To qualify for this allowance, young people must meet several eligibility criteria: they must be under 35 years old and be employed for the first time in sectors such as the electronics, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries; automotive and auto parts manufacturing; the textile and clothing industry; the construction materials industry; or the food and creative industries.

"As I promised in the 'For Moldova' plan, today I signed the law that provides a financial supplement of 3,000 Moldovan Lei per month, for one year, to young people starting their first job in seven key areas for the country's development," stated President Maia Sandu. "We want our young people to stay home. We know that a first salary isn't always attractive enough. Through this program, we hope to convince young people to choose Moldova."

According to authorities, nearly 6,000 young people will benefit from this monthly allowance over the next two years. The required funds will be allocated from the state budget.

The specific method for granting these allowances will be determined by the Government.
