Moldova honors 89 Baccalaureate graduates for perfect scores

On July 4, 89 high school graduates who achieved perfect scores of 10 on the 2025 national baccalaureate exam were celebrated for their "excellent results obtained through hard work, discipline, and tenacity."
This celebration of excellence was held at a solemn ceremony at Mediacor, attended by President Maia Sandu, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun, and the graduates' parents and teachers.
In her congratulatory message, President Maia Sandu emphasized that these achievements reflect not only the students' intelligence and dedication but also crucial changes initiated in the education system over a decade ago.
"Thirteen years ago, when we began the fight against cheating in the baccalaureate exams, our goal was to ensure fairness for diligent students. We wanted to send a very clear message: hard work is valued and it matters," Maia Sandu stated. A The President highlighted that the success of these young people is proof that Moldova is changing – a country that values fairness, merit, and genuine effort. The head of state emphasized that in a world full of challenges, where some seek to destroy, well-prepared young people can become part of the solution.
"You are the ones who can make this world better, who can discover treatments for incurable diseases, solutions for energy crises, and environmental problems," Maia Sandu noted. The President thanked parents for investing time and resources in their children's education and also thanked teachers for their dedication. The head of state also wished the young graduates success and encouraged them to move forward with confidence and perseverance, contributing through their growth to the country's progress.

The official appealed to the honorees to choose universities in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the significant investments made in recent years to modernize higher education institutions.
"We eagerly await you in our university lecture halls starting September 2025. The state has made a substantial effort over the past four years to offer better study conditions here, at home. 500 million lei have been invested in our universities during these years – modern study rooms, laboratories, and renovated dormitories. We are fully confident that we can offer you competitive education here, at home. Our simple request is: give our universities a chance, get to know them. We want the values you represent to be reflected through you in our universities and, subsequently, in the country," the minister said.
Those who choose to study abroad are also expected to return home, the minister noted. "We wish you success in your international experience, but we await you back home – for internships and after graduation. The Republic of Moldova is changing for the better, and with your participation, that change will be even faster," Dan Perciun asserted.
