The Summit of the European Political Community will be hosted next year by the Republic of Moldova

The main current topics for security in the European space, as well as the dramatic consequences of the Russian aggression on Ukraine and the impact for the Republic of Moldova on the energy and socio-economic level, were addressed by the head of diplomacy from Chisinau, Nicu Popescu, at the the 29th Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OSCE Member States, which took place in the Polish city of Łódź. During the discussions, Popescu also coordinated the agenda of the Summit of the European Political Community, which will be hosted next year by the Republic of Moldova.

"In these difficult moments for our country and the region, it is more important than ever to ensure the support and solidarity of our partners - those who support our freedom and Europeanness", wrote on his Facebook page the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicu Popescu, making a review of the results of the OSCE summit in Poland. During the meeting, the head of diplomacy from Chisinau held bilateral talks with top European officials and his counterparts from partner countries. "I spoke with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, about the regional security situation in the context of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the tough energy crisis, including the country's electricity shortage as a result of the Russian Federation's massive attacks on the energy infrastructure in the neighboring country", said Nicu Popescu. The Foreign Minister says he has continued the discussion about strengthening our country's security through the European Peace Facility. "This topic was also the subject of our recent consultations at the 6th round of consultations in the field of security and defense between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union", said Nicu Popescu. With the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, the head of diplomacy from Chisinau addressed "the issue of the liberalization of road transport of goods on the territory of the EU states, so that domestic road transport operators can carry out international transports through the EU for Moldovan exports, without road transport permits".
