Moldova's Green House: Boost home energy

Over 170 families in Moldova have already applied for funding through the "Green House" program, recently launched by the Ministry of Energy.
This funding initiative is part of the Residential Sector Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM) and aims to support residents in modernizing their homes to become more energy efficient.
In its first few days, citizen interest has been significant, signaling a clear desire to reduce energy costs and contribute to environmental protection. The "Green House" program offers non-reimbursable support of up to 200,000 lei for home energy efficiency improvements. These include thermal insulation, upgraded heating systems, or the installation of renewable energy sources such as solar panels with storage batteries, biomass boilers, or solar collectors.
The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that the "Green House" program means lower bills, more comfortable homes in both winter and summer, and sustainable investments with a positive environmental impact. Interested citizens are encouraged to submit their applications online via the www.feerm.md platform.
The "Green House" program was launched on July 3, 2025, and will run until December 31, 2027. In its initial phase, valid for the current year, approximately 740 beneficiaries are anticipated.
In total, by the project's conclusion, it is estimated that over 900 families will be able to access this support through the "Green House" program.
For 2025, the allocated budget is 149 million lei, a sum that could be supplemented based on demand and the expansion of eligibility conditions.
To access the grant, beneficiaries must meet the following criteria:
- Be citizens of Moldova;
- Hold ownership of the property;
- Have at least one minor child as a dependent;
- Have no outstanding debts to the national budget;
- The dwelling must be in good technical condition;
- Not be involved in judicial proceedings that could affect project implementation.
