Heavy rainfall and strong winds on the night of July 9 to 10 created problems in several regions of the country and required the intervention of rescuers.
The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, Tatiana Muntean, informed Teleradio-Moldova that in the Leova district, a large branch fell on a house's roof, damaging the structure and destroying a gazebo in the yard.
In Sângerei and Călărași, strong winds knocked down several trees onto the road, temporarily blocking traffic.
In the city of Nisporeni, heavy rain accumulated in a household due to a clogged storm drain. Intervention teams worked for several hours to unclog the drain and remove the water from the affected yard.
In Chișinău, the Municipal Enterprise "Association for the Management of Green Spaces" responded to 13 locations to remove fallen trees and broken branches.
Municipal authorities are advising drivers to avoid parking under trees, especially during periods when a Yellow Wind Warning is in effect, and to use only designated parking areas.
