Chișinău man detained for attempted murder of partner
A 38-year-old man from Chișinău has been detained by law enforcement on suspicion of attempted murder against his live-in partner.
The incident occurred at their shared residence, following a conflict that broke out between the couple.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the victim, a 43-year-old woman, alerted authorities, reporting an attack with a sharp object by her partner. Preliminary information indicates the man reportedly struck the woman multiple times in the head and neck area before fleeing the scene.
Following a rapid response, the suspect was located and apprehended in the Anenii Noi district, with the support of local police officers.
A criminal investigation has been initiated, and the court has ordered the man's remand for 30 days. If convicted, he faces a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years.
Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances.
