The priorities of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with NATO, discussed in Chisinau
The priority subjects from the Republic of Moldova - NATO cooperation agenda were discussed, in Chisinau, by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ruslan Bolbocean, and the head of the NATO Liaison Office in the Republic of Moldova, Michaela Šimáková. The officials emphasized the parties' interest in continuing the political dialogue and implementing practical programs in the mutually agreed areas.
According to the MAEIE, a separate topic of the discussion was the collaboration for the implementation of the objectives of the Individual Action Plan of the Republic of Moldova-NATO Partnership for the years 2022-2023, the realization of the NATO Assistance Package for strengthening the defense and security capabilities of the Republic of Moldova, the implementation of the projects within the Science for Peace and Security program, cooperation in combating new threats to security, as well as promoting public diplomacy activities. Another topic of the meeting was, according to the cited source, the latest developments related to regional and European security, the risks generated by the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine, as well as the need to manage the refugee crisis and energy and socio-economic issues. In this context, State Secretary Ruslan Bolbocean reiterated the interest in the organization's expertise and assistance in promoting democratic reforms, in particular for the modernization of the national security and defense sector.
