Fălești launches university of the Third Age for seniors

The University of the Third Age has been launched in the Fălești district, Republic of Moldova, offering opportunities for lifelong learning and socialization, to maintain cognitive engagement, combat social isolation, and foster active community involvement.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend interactive sessions on topics such as self-discovery, digital skills development, healthy lifestyles, conversational English, history and spirituality, legal education, and other subjects, tailored to the group's expressed interests.

The "University of the Third Age" initiative was launched on October 1, 2023, in Chișinău, at the Moldova State University. It was subsequently extended to the Universities in Cahul and Bălți, and has since successfully graduated over 240 seniors.

“The expansion of the University of the Third Age into the Fălești district opens new learning and personal development opportunities for seniors in this region, a move that significantly broadens the reach of this educational program for seniors in the country’s northern region,” highlighted the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

This initiative is part of the National Program for Active and Healthy Aging 2023–2027.
