Mihai Popșoi in Dubrovnik: Moldova and Ukraine's EU accession is vital for regional stability and security

The future accession of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to the European Union is crucial for the long-term stability, security, and prosperity of both the region and Europe as a whole. This statement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi during the "Ukraine - South-Eastern Europe" ministerial meeting held in Dubrovnik.
The event brought together foreign ministers from the region as part of the Dubrovnik Forum, aiming to enhance political support for Ukraine amidst Russian aggression and reconstruction efforts.
During his speech, Mihai Popșoi strongly condemned the war initiated by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, emphasizing the severe humanitarian consequences, widespread destruction, and significant threats to regional security and stability.
"Ukraine requires the full support of the international community to confront Russia's ongoing aggression. The future accession of both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to the EU is crucial for the long-term stability, security, and prosperity of our region and Europe as a whole. Moreover, our accession to the European Union is not merely a goal for us; it is a means to ensure peace, security, and well-being for our people," declared the head of diplomacy from Chișinău.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a joint declaration reaffirming support for Ukraine and its continued path toward Europe.
