European investments bring comfort and modern services to Hăsnășenii Mari, Drochia

The village of Hăsnășenii Mari in the Drochia district is striving to achieve European living standards. This includes access to drinking water, modernized public services, and investments that benefit all residents. As a result, the community is currently undergoing a significant transformation.
For nearly two years, over 1,500 residents of Hăsnășenii Mari have had access to drinking water in their homes, thanks to an aqueduct that is more than 18 kilometers long. This project was made possible by the "European Village" Program. The Dîrloi couple, who have lived in the village for over 40 years, share that household tasks have become much easier.
"We think it’s wonderful to have centralized water. We also have water for the washing machine and in the kitchen".
"It’s very convenient and a great pleasure. Before, we had to carry water using boilers, which was difficult. Now, we also have an irrigation system, as well as a manual one," said the residents.
Another significant project for the community is the renovation of the village kindergarten, part of the "I'M INVOLVED" initiative funded by the Swiss Government. Improvements such as thermal insulation, new windows, and doors have made the building more energy-efficient and comfortable for the children, leading to reduced maintenance costs.
"We received furniture—beds, wardrobes, and tables. Thanks to this project, the condition of the classrooms has improved. We also received materials for the food block," said Marina Criminceanu, the kindergarten director.
Currently, the renovation of the Culture House is underway through the "European Village" program, with an estimated budget of approximately 3.5 million lei. This facility is scheduled to undergo full rehabilitation.
"The Culture House was built in 1978. Until now, it has only undergone cosmetic repairs and has not benefited from major renovations. We faced issues with wind and rain damage," explained Iurie Storoj, the director of the Culture House.
Angela Moroșan, the mayor of Hăsnășenii Mari, said, "We decided to apply for the revitalization project for the House of Culture because our village has beautiful traditions. We have amateur artists and an ensemble that brings fame to our village."
