Dozens of cycling enthusiasts rode through Chișinău at Velo Road 2025
Cycling enthusiasts gathered today at Velo Road in Chisinau. Dozens of participants, ranging from young to old, rode a 14-kilometer route through the heart of Chisinau. Using bicycles and scooters, and fueled by enthusiasm, the riders showcased that urban mobility can be active, environmentally friendly, and full of positive energy.
The event brought together dozens of sports enthusiasts. Although they rarely ride bicycles, they claim they participate whenever they have the opportunity to explore Chișinău on two wheels.
"It's easy. I didn't prepare myself in any way. I always participate in such events. With the bicycle I have, I’ve managed a maximum of 80 kilometers, but it is not suitable for the road."
"The most important thing is health and a healthy lifestyle, and we want to make the city cleaner. I have been riding a bicycle for almost 15 years, and my record is 70 km."
"We often go out with my family, but only in our free time. We are glad that events like this are organized where we can spend time together in a different and healthy way."
"I am an amateur and I am participating for the first time. My brother suggested it to me, and I decided to join. The bicycle also belongs to my brother."
"We like to sleep, but for an event like this, we mobilized our whole family. Grandpa wanted to come too, but we couldn't find a suitable bike for him. We try to go out by bike at least once every two weeks," the participants reported.
The organizers state that the route is modified each year to explore different parts of the capital.
"This project brings new features every year. One of the wishes from the participants was to have a longer route, so they could fully enjoy this activity," said Petru Grecu, director of the Municipal Youth Center.
The Velo Road event, organized by Chisinau City Hall, has reached its sixth edition.
