Left bank economic agents paid over 80 million lei in customs duties in the first half of the year

In the first six months of this year, economic agents from the left bank of the Nistru paid over 80 million lei in customs duties on imported goods. This demonstrates their integration into the national customs system and the strengthening of the single economic space, according to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, referencing data from the Public Services Agency. For the entire year of 2024, customs duties collected amounted to 196 million lei.

This year, a total of 2,428 economic agents were registered in the left-bank region of the Nistru, which is an increase of 22 compared to the end of last year. This figure is approximately 1.79 times higher than in 2014, when only 1,354 entrepreneurs were registered.

Economic agents from the eastern districts of the country and the Bender municipality, registered with the Public Services Agency (ASP), continue to engage in foreign trade activities using certificates of origin for goods. These certificates are issued in compliance with both international and national requirements.

According to data provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Customs Service, and in line with the World Trade Organization provisions and national legislation, over a thousand product quality certificates were issued in the first half of 2025.

The Reintegration Policies Office reports that this trend reflects an ongoing reintegration of economic activities into the national legal framework, in accordance with the Republic of Moldova's domestic and international commitments. Additionally, this positive dynamic demonstrates that pursuing a European path and aligning with European Union standards benefits economic agents in the region.
