DA Platform excluded from the "Împreună" Bloc after it decided to join PAS list for parliamentary elections

The Dignity and Truth Platform was excluded from the "Împreuna" Bloc after announcing its decision not to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28. Instead, it expressed support for the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) as part of a political partnership. The exclusion was decided by the Bloc's Coordination Council on Thursday, July 18, which stated that the Platform's action violates the alliance's operational regulations.

The "Împreuna" Bloc has expressed its concern regarding the strategy of the PAS party, stating, "In our opinion, the targeting of pro-European political parties by PAS is a misguided approach that will lead to the division and fragmentation of the pro-European vote."

In response, PAS leader Igor Grosu explained that discussions with the DA Platform, the "Împreuna" Bloc, and other political groups were intended to strengthen the pro-European and pro-democratic segment. He stated, "To unite society around the goals of EU accession, development, maintaining peace, and protecting democracy in our country, we invited prominent individuals from outside the party to join the PAS list—such as former ministers, journalists, entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, and rectors, as well as politicians. We received a positive response from the DA Platform, and we would like to thank them for accepting our proposal. We have acknowledged the refusal from the Change Party and LOC. This fall, the most significant parliamentary elections since our independence will take place. We have a historic opportunity to join the EU in the next four years, and it would be a tragedy to miss this goal. PAS is committed to this objective," Grosu stated on Facebook.

The DA Platform also justified its decision to support PAS by highlighting the need to consolidate the pro-European segment and avoid vote splitting.

“This gesture of unity comes at a critical moment for the future of the Republic of Moldova.” He added, “The wisdom of joining forces will determine whether our country continues on its path toward the EU or falls under the sway of oligarchs and Kremlin influence,” said the party leader Dinu Plîngău.

Parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova are scheduled for September 28, 2025.
