Moldova's CEC targets parties over financial reporting

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced it has alerted the Ministry of Justice regarding the suspension of activities for the Socialist Party of Moldova and the Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova, as well as the dissolution of the Conservative Party and the "ȘANSA" (Chance) Political Party.
According to the CEC, the "ȘANSA" party submitted its report in physical format past the deadline, and it was only electronically signed by the party's president, which contravenes the law.
The CEC's statement also mentions that the "Home We Build Europe" (PACE) Political Party submitted its report after the deadline.
Seven other political organizations did not submit their financial management reports for the first semester of 2025:
- Socialist Party of Moldova;
- Conservative Party;
- "ȘANSA" (Chance) Political Party;
- Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova Political Party;
- "FENIX MOLDOVA" Political Party;
- Party of Regions of Moldova (dissolved);
- "United Moldova – Единая Молдова" Party (dissolved).
According to data presented by the CEC, 58 of the 66 political organizations submitted their financial management reports for the first semester of 2025 by the July 15 deadline.
